Madonna MDNA Tour Costumes

Madonna is set to vogue her way around the world on her MDNA concert tour, which kicks off Thursday in Tel Aviv and she’s enlisted a cadre of fashion designers to create an array of showstopping looks for the stage.







Madonna's parade of costume changes includes outfits from longtime collaborators Jean Paul Gaultier and Jeremy Scott, shoes from Prada and Miu Miu and pieces from Alexander Wang. Dolce & Gabbana made suits for the band and background vocalists, Fausto Puglisi created menacing bandolier vests and rams head masks for the backup dancers and even J Brand whipped up custom-made jeans.

Bras and panties , including one heart-shaped style from Madonna’s new intimates line "Truth or Dare", are incorporated into some numbers, as are shoes from the new "Truth or Dare" footwear line, at retail this fall. A somber, elegiac version of the usually peppy "Like a Virgin" will be sung by Madonna in an Agent Provocateur bra.




"It’s a real journey from the first act to the fourth, and the way she constructs her shows is like a theater piece," stated costume designer and stylist Arianne Phillips, who oversaw the entire wardrobe design for Madonna, her backup singers, musicians and 22 backup dancers. Scott, for his part, has been camped out in Tel Aviv this week, working till the last minute on some costumes.

The original Gaultier design is worn during the "Vogue" number and includes a white shirt, black tie, opera-length black gloves and a rigid skeleton corset. The getup references the iconic pink bustier-with-pin-striped suit look the designer created for Madonna’s 1990 "Blond Ambition" world tour, widely considered a pinnacle of both of their careers.




"We played with the ideas of a suit and a corset. But the corset is now like a cage," explained Gaultier. "What I have done this time is a nod to the conical bra corset of the Blond Ambition tour but reinterpreted in 3-D, in patent leather on the outside with metallic leather on the inside. It’s all about masculine and feminine, Madonna and Jean Paul Gaultier classics reinterpreted for 2012."

The designer and Phillips also re-created some archival Gaultier pieces for Madonna’s dancers, as an homage to his long relationship with the iconic singer. Gaultier was also responsible for the kinky equestrian and "Saturday Night Fever"-inspired looks of Madonna’s 2006 "Confessions" tour, and she once walked his runway with her nipples exposed.

"I love Madonna. She is the only woman I have asked to marry me. She refused, of course," added Gaultier. "But when she asked me to do a costume for her for this tour, I couldn’t refuse."




Prada created high-heeled shoes for the male dancers in the gender-bending "Vogue" performance, which includes imagery of the Vogue magazine logo on massive video screens , similar to "Madonna’s Super Bowl" performance of the song, which was viewed by 117 million people.

"This show is epic and bigger than anything she’s done before. There are many more costume changes. We’re taking 700 shoes on the road. Madonna changes outfits seven or eight times and the dancers change 10 to 15 times, depending on the dancer," quoted as saying Phillips of the production, which includes multiple appearances on stage by two of Madonna’s children, Lourdes and Rocco, in supporting roles.

Prada has supplied custom-made shoes for many of Madonna’s previous tours, noted Phillips. "They have been generous for so many years. Her relationship with them is really special. Everything is specially made and they made some incredible high-heeled boots for the boys," she added.





Phillips, who has done the costumes for Madonna’s four previous tours, designed a number of looks herself, delivering a wide range for her famously chameleonlike boss. The lineup veers from a forbidding Joan of Arc-inspired outfit fashioned from metal mesh and Swarovski Elements to a vernal, miniskirted majorette getup for Madonna.

"It’s inspired by a 1940s majorette and I was looking for something playful and fun," explained Phillips.

Masks are a big component to many outfits, with dancers hiding their faces behind gargoyle and bunny guises. "The show explores the idea of stripping away layers of identity and discovering the layers of who you are," claimed Phillips. There’s a menacing streak to some looks, with themes of violence explored in certain segments, which are accessorized with swords, guns, armor and holsters.

One designer missing from the MDNA tour roster is Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, who designed the showboating Cleopatra-on-Mars outfit Madonna donned for her "Super Bowl" performance. Phillips attributed Tisci’s absence from the collaborator list to scheduling conflicts.

Madonna herself was closely involved with the show’s costume design, stated Phillips, who was nominated for an Oscar for her work on Madonna’s film "W.E." earlier this year. "This is her brainchild and her concept. We have a 15-year relationship and there’s a rhythm to how we collaborate. She’s very open-minded but she expects a lot," she explained. "She’s always challenging herself and pushing herself constantly to learn new things and she pushes me further than I would myself. When you’re on the world stage with her, you really have to bring your A game."

As for the media dustup this week when Madonna supposedly lobbed a grenade at Lady Gaga by mashing up her own "Express Yourself" with Lady Gaga’s allegedly reductive "Born This Way" in rehearsals, it wasn’t just a ploy for attention and it’s part of the permanent show. At the end of the song, Madonna throws in the line "She’s Not Me," from her recent song of the same name.

"Whether it’s an homage or a smack in the face or just being funny, I don’t know," stated Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s spokeswoman. "People can decide what it means. Madonna isn’t one to explain herself."

Willow Smith's Freddie Krueger T-Shirt At "Men In Black 3" New York Premiere

As celebrity offspring, Willow Smith is accustomed to attending star-studded events, even at the tender age of 11.

So Willow didn’t feel the need dress up when she attended the New York premiere of her father Will’s latest movie "Men In Black 3".

Willow sported a T-shirt with spooky Nightmare on Elm Street character Freddie Krueger splashed across the front.

Actually she wore the top as a dress and teamed it with ripped black tights, lacy white socks and leopard print creeper shoes.

Willow did however dress up the casual ensemble with a monochrome blazer and matching trilby hat.

Meanwhile her brother Jaden was also dressed down in a black T-shirt and trousers which he wore with high-top trainers and a studded denim jacket.

Miranda Kerr Commercial

Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr would  have probably wished this commercial stay overseas, but thanks to the power of the web, Kerr's hilarious new Lipton Limone spot is available from Japan for your viewing pleasure.

In the Japanese commercials, Miranda, 28, dons a cute yellow waitress uniform and brandishes her Lipton Limone in front of a confused gentleman who appears to have rubbed his piece of cake all over his face and glasses. Why, by the way?

There's also the guy who hands her the drink, who's dressed in a face-obscuring brown robe. There's a reason he's dressed that way... 

And then comes the ultra-catchy jingle.  

We can't put our finger the supermodel is actually singing the recorded version of the song, but in the behind-the-scenes video, she lets a few notes loose ... 

Kerr, who reportedly filmed the commercial on a trip to Japan, now joins the elite club of celebrities quietly shilling foreign goods, which already includes Megan Fox's South Korean handbags, Jennifer Connelly's 80's Shiseido spots and hilariously, Jennifer Aniston's German ads for Heineken.

Jennifer Lopez In Sexy Bathing Suits In Vogue's June Issue By Mario Testino !

Rigorous dancing routines make certainly a fabulous body!

Jennifer Lopez models five sexy designer swimsuits in the June issue of Vogue, flaunting her famous legs and killer abs in photos shot by celebrity photographer Mario Testino.

Looks include a maroon Charlie by Matthew Zink V-neck, a strappy black Hervé Léger by Max Azria suit and looks from Chanel, Gucci and Eres.

Jennifer Lopez, who’s been steaming up the small screen with boyfriend Casper Smart, is launching a summer tour with Enrique Iglesias after "American Idol" wraps next week. 

"We have a lot of choreographers working with us," Jennifer told reporters at a recent press conference, adding that designer Zuhair Murad is creating her costumes. "It’s going to be an amazing, amazing show."

Tyra Banks: " I Was Told I Was Too Fat For The Runway"

Tyra Banks reveals the horrors of the modeling industry in a new open letter to models on "The Daily Beast" in response to Vogue’s decision to ban models who "appear to have an eating disorder" from their glossy pages.

But what are Tyra Banks'experiences as a teenage model?

Here are the shocking details...

"The truth is that if I was just starting to model at age 17 in 2012, I could not have had the career that I did,"reveals Tyra about how the modeling industry standards have changed. "I would’ve been considered too heavy. In my time, the average model’s size was a four or six. Today you are expected to be a size zero. When I started out, I didn’t know such a size even existed."

Tyra, who started modeling when she was very young, talks about what the modeling industry was like back when she first hit the catwalk.

"When I started modeling, I used to see models who seemed unhealthy backstage at fashion shows," Tyra explains. "They appeared to be abusing their bodies to maintain a certain weight" Tyra states.

"In my early 20s I was a size four. But then I started to get curvy. My agency gave my mom a list of designers that didn’t want to book me in their fashion shows anymore. In order to continue working, I would’ve had to fight Mother Nature and get used to depriving myself of nutrition," Tyra quoted as saying about the "certain sample size that has been set by the industry."

"As my mom wiped the tears from my face, she said, "Tyra, you know what we’re going to do about this? We’re going to go eat pizza." We sat in a tiny pizzeria in Milan and strategized about how to turn my curves into a curveball. In a way, it was my decision not to starve myself that turned me into a supermodel, and later on, a businesswoman."

Jessica Simpson Launches Maternity Line !

Jessica Simpson is set to launch her own maternity clothing line with "Destination Maternity" according to PEOPLE magazine.

Simpson, who just welcomed her first child, Maxwell Drew Johnson, will launch the collection at 700 Destination Maternity, Motherhood Maternity and Macy’s stores in the fall.

So, to the people that are interested in buying the collection, the collection starts at just $39 and it will feature "breezy, everyday pieces aimed at the modern mom-to-be who wants to maintain her fashion edge throughout her pregnancy" according to PEOPLE.

But how Jessica Simpson feels about launching a maternity line with "Destination Maternity"?

   " I’m so excited to partner with Destination Maternity to design a collection of fashionable styles that make you look and feel great. You want to wear clothes that are flattering to your baby bump; you want to show your bump off." Jessica Simpson quoted as saying.

Amber Rose Model

After signing with Ford Models in 2009, Kanye West’s ex  girlfriend, Amber Rose was taking the first steps to her new modeling career : test shots.

Confessions of a Casting Director posted two test shots of Rose’s that were taken at Ford. Many people beleived then that she wouldn’t go any further than some spreads with urban clothing lines...

 Amber Rose in 2011 clarified recent reports suggesting she was released from her contract with Ford Models.

Writing on her Twitter account, Rose denied being released and said her contract had simply expired.

"I did NOT get dropped from FORD Models my contract was up now I'm with CAA @Shelterok don't believe everything u read babe :-)," Rose tweeted Monday (February 7th). (Amber Rose's Twitter)

Details of Rose and Ford's split ties hit the Internet in late December.

But it has to be mentioned that Amber in September 2009 announced plans to launch her own line of eye wear. She even walked the runway at New York Fashion Week for "Celestino".

Levonchuck has also made cameos in music videos such as Ludacris' "What Them Girls Like", Young Jeezy's "Vacation", Mary Mary's "God in Me", Nicki Minaj's "Massive Attack", Fabolous' "You Be Killin' Em" and Wiz Khalifa's "No Sleep".

In 2010 Amber appeared in Russell Simmons' reality show about his two assistants, "Running Russell Simmons". She also starred in a PSA by NOH8 Campaign. In 2011, Amber Rose was a guest judge on Season 3 of RuPaul's Drag Race. She was also a judge on Season 2 of Master of the Mix.

In November 2011 she became the spokesperson for Smirnoff and appeared in a TV ad and billboards for the company's new flavors Whipped Cream and Fluffed Marshmallow.

  Amber Rose is undeniably well known for having dated Kanye West. During their relationship, her "modeling career" was managed by Ford Models, one of the top agencies in the industry. But it seems now that her relationship with Kanye has run its course, so has her partnership with Ford. The agency told the NY Post they no longer represent Amber. It's unknown who her new agency is, or if she even has one, but someone is definitely negotiating deals for her. (according to Style Bistro)

Although separated, Amber is reportedly working on a new reality television series.

  It appears that Rose, whose fame began when she would escort her now ex-boyfriend Kanye West to fashion shows wearing all manner of latex ensembles, is working on a reality show called "Behind Her Shades", about a vintage sunglasses store in Las Vegas.  (according to New York Mag)

Willow Smith, the eccentric 11-year-old daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, stepped out in NYC on Thursday sporting some expensive, and unusual, heelless boots. It seems that her hair is not the weirdest thing on her.

 First has shaved her head with no reason and now, as you can see in the pic , she has dyed her hair green! But the question is: How can she actually walk in this shoes? Plus, the shoes are too expensive!

 For those who are curious about the price, her shoes cost 700 dollars. It has to be mentioned that they have been designed by Yohji Yamamoto for Adidas.

How Cindy Crawford Feels About Her Daughter's Modeling Debut At 10 !

They look alike.That's for sure! Kaia Gerber is every inch the model of her mother Cindy Crawford, making Cindy, 46, proud and, she even admits, a little jealous.

Asked if she was worried about getting older, the former supermodel responded: "Oh, please. I am a normal woman, I have good days and bad days and it’s not really that fun."

While she says she loves her life and is grateful for her family, she adds: "I look at my daughter and I’m like, "You have my old skin and I want it back! You have my old legs, I want them back! You have my old hair, I want it back!"

"She is just getting more and more beautiful and, you know ... "But at the same time, there’s so much good that comes with it. And I think if you’re happy in your life, it’s a lot easier to take."









Last year Kaia caused a stir when she posed for a Versace photoshoot even though she was just ten at the time but Cindy supported her decision to allow it. She stated: "I thought it was appropriate and beautiful and she didn’t have any make-up on. In the car on the way home she confessed, "That was kind of hard."

"It was good for her because she liked doing it, but she also saw that it was work."

It has to be mentioned that Cindy was just 16 when she was discovered, and the following year was already being represented by Elite model agency.

Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen Quit Acting At 25 !

It took a couple decades of exposure, but it's finally happened: Ashley Olsen has cured herself of the acting bug!

"I don't have to be a pretty face," Ashley told UK's Elle Magazine. "I've done that, but now it's important and liberating to be on the other side of the lens. I don't like to be the center of attention anymore."

"We are perfectionists," Ashley stated. "We've always wanted to be closely involved with everything, totally hands on.That's why it works. If we step away, it stops working. I know it sounds controlling, but that's how it has to be."

"We're attracted to different things, but we arrive at the same place," Ashley revealed. "I think we're probably unaware of how intuitive it might seem from the outside. It's basically one thought process shared between two people."

Ashley Olsen says she and her twin sister Mary-Kate are unlikely to ever act again.

Ashley, just 25-years-old, broke the news to UK’s Elle magazine, saying:

    "We worked non-stop until we were 18. Then we decided to take a break and go to school and that was when we decided to question whether we would carry on in entertainment. It was time to step behind the process. I wanted to work on other things."

"It doesn’t mean I’m not interested in Hollywood, I like the way it operates and the people who are involved and the sense of possibility. But if I ever do get back in, it’s not going to be as an actress. It just felt right to move away" Ashley adds.

And what the Olsen twins advice to people who want to hit it big in Hollywood?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen emphasize the importance of staying "grounded" when it comes to making it in Hollywood!

Now that the acting bug has left them, the question remains: "What the Olsen Twins are up to?"

It looks like Katy Perry took a style cue from fellow pop singers Florence Welch and Lady Gaga. She bravely bared her underwear out in public for all to see.

Actually she was spotted on the street in Paris sporting a sheer, mint green gathered "Vera Wang" dress with a perforated peplum vest and matching undies. Her high-waisted underwear were undeniably on full display!

She accessorized her bum-baring look with a bright coral handbag, sparkly earrings, and strappy metallic platform shoes. She wore minimal makeup and curled the ends of her blue bob, but no matter how bright her hair is, what catches our attention is her sheer dress.
